Several initiatives have emerged, left, in favor of legalizing the practice of surrogacy (surrogate motherhood), associated the idea of a "progressive" vision of parenthood.

The use of surrogates is, in fact, absolutely contrary to any kind of commitment "progressive." While supporters of ABM contend that the practice of surrogacy, where it is legal, takes place across a positive way, a concrete study of these practices led to the opposite conclusion, through a quadruple point:

- Far from solving problems, the legalization of surrogacy is a legal trap that causes a proliferation of conflicts often dramatic,

- The commodification of the female body is the concrete result and almost universal legalization. It thus leads to further exploitation, radical, poor women,

- The psychological consequences of this practice are widely underestimated, and can be severe,

- Surrogate mothers, far from being an improvement, are regressive and cause a bad fight for the left, the newest and perhaps most shocking extension of the domain of contemporary alienation.
